01The film

“May I remind you: judge no book by its color. They’re our family.”

A line from the film

Chris grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn in the 1980s, when every group kept to its own side. Judge No Book is his answer. At its heart is a friendship between an Italian-American and his best friend, an African-American.

He made it his own way, with his own and his family’s money. It took three and a half years. He edited it himself and worked closely with the composer on the score.
